Outside the box studiO was born out of a love for sharing the arts. Whether you are wanting to take a DABBLER class or an INTENSIVE course, this is the place to be! The setting is community based in a beautifully lit, well equipped and organized studio where art and community is the focus. Come Play!
About the Owner
Mary Lynn Baird grew up in Nebraska. Moving to Colorado, she taught elementary art for 32 years. Being a passionate practicing artist while teaching was very important to her, allowing her students to inspire and artistically form her in ways she would have never imagined.
When she retired as an art teacher she knew she wanted to continue her artist journey but also knew she didn’t want to do it alone. That is how Outside the box studiO (an art teaching studio) came to be!
What is she most artistically passionate about:
Clay Monotype! If you haven't tried this form of art, it is a must! It is an intense, technical, and deeply layered process and becomes more beautifully complicated the further you explore. She has been developing this form of art for more than 20 years.
Mixed Media with Photo Image Transfer! I love layers, multitudes of mediums and then the addition of a subtle story through photo image transfer.
Her other art loves: Trying it all! She truly can’t get enough of unearthing and developing art skills in all mediums, sharing discoveries with others and becoming a sponge for new learning.
Mary Lynn is a multi-disciplined, mixed media artist, art explorer, optimist, and collector of friends for the sake of art and community.
